Læs hele det spændende nyhedsbrev her:Norway's Ministry of Government Administration and Reform announced that all new information on governmental web sites must be available in the open formats HTML, PDF or ODF from January 1 2009 onwards. Specifically: HTML must be the primary format for publication of public information on the Internet; PDF (1.4 or newer, or PDF/A - ISO 19005-1) will be required if the objective is to preserve the original layout of a document; and ODF (ISO/IEC 26300) must be used when publishing documents that are meant to be changed after downloading; e.g., forms that are to be filled in by the user. Older documents must be converted into these formats by 2014. In making the announcement, Minister Heidi Grande Røys said: "Everybody should have equal access to public information. From 2009 citizens will be able to choose which software to use in order to gain access to public information. The government's decision will also improve competition between suppliers of office applications."
